Things mentioned in the interview:
- The code name of the game was Lovecraft.
- The theme of the game is heavily influenced by Quake 1 and the Lovecraftian Cthulu/Elder mythos with the gameplay being closer to Quake 3 (with the addition of differentiating champions with abilities).
- There are passive and active abilities. Active ones are the abilities we saw in the CGI trailer.
- He hinted at passive abilities being for example different movement systems "So you could pick a character that has some passive abilities, maybe one that’s a little faster".
- Confirmed no loadouts.
- Item timers confirmed (but not what kind of implementation, HUD or on the Map).
- Integrated Matchmaking, league systems and tournaments were mentioned.
- They have not decided on a monetization plan yet.

I'd love a working duel ladder in a game with a reasonable playerbase
I just dont understand why the same development misstakes are being made over and over, it literally baffles me.
With that said im excited to actually see what they have been working on!
Will mean you still have to time to some extent but will not completely break the ability to offset timings and be effective. If you are running around checking items all the time anyway then i doubt it will really affect you either way.
Id rather players split their focus between timing and position/combat in varied amounts depending on the player than just simply all players doing the same method (timing by feel or using item timers).
It also adds to the amount of things a player has to think about to be the best. If 2 players have equal skill and positioning but one can time 3 items to the second and the other can only time mega then player A has the advantage.
Removing it just removes another thing by which you can separate players by their ability.
Also as a shitty dueler, I enjoy the challenge of trying to time while being under pressure and trying not to compromise the rest of my game.
If they remove clock timing and add something else that fills the void it leaves then I wont complain. But just removing it for the sake of making the game easier would annoy me, at least in duel
Could very likely be that timers are on in this new main mode they are working on but they leave clock timing as it is in duel so they dont needlessly annoy the hardcore fanbase while focusing on a different mode anyway
