Doom screenshots from QuakeCon 2015
Turns out id and Bethesda have released a fresh set of spiffy screenshots showing off the new Doom title on the second day of QuakeCon 2015. This is happening in conjunction with letting attendees get their sweaty palms on an alpha build of the multiplayer. Who knows, maybe we will get the pleasure to hear impressions from a few professional Quake player regarding the gameplay and feel.
Considering there is plenty of time left until QuakeCon ends this leaves one wondering what else they could have in store for us. Perhaps a new video of actual multiplayer will be released for all of us to feast our eyes upon. One can only hope!

Translation / summary:
- death match was played in 6v6, no other info on different gamemodes so far
- DooM-Alpha has loadouts atm, you have to pick from three different "classes" before you spawn: Assault, Sniper, Ambush. Each loadout comes with 2 heavy weapons and one type of grenade. On the map that was available there were no weapon pickups except for some specials. You can switch loadouts between deaths (upon respawn)
- The devs hinted at some form of achievement or progression system where you are supposed to unlock stuff, similar to BF4 or CoD. Players should still be able to enjoy DooM right from the get go though
- The only map shown was rather small, similar to a Q3A map in size. Lots of tight corridors and angles for short line of sight. Only some bigger rooms
- gameplay is fast, but compared to Quake or UT it felt a little slower (this is subjective). Maybe due to the fact that DooM is supposed to be played on consoles as well
- the map had a strong emphasis on verticality. Being on higher grounds gives an advantage. Double jumps exists to get onto ledges etc.
- Assault: Rocket-Launcher + Plasma + Frag Grenade
- Sniper: Vortex-Rifle + Super Shotgun (due?) + Teleporter, no grenade
- Ambush: Static Cannon + Repeater + Frag Grenade. Static Cannon: Gets charged while moving for maximum damage. Charge / damage deplets when standing still.
- ammo, life and armor are pickups, also a very strong "laser weapon" was available as a pickup, also the powerup that transforms you into a demon. Due to missing weapon pickups, map control is less important than say in quake
- powerup transforms you into a Revenant. Shots rockets and you have a jetpack to fly. Powerup drops upon death.
- takedowns: available in multiplayer. however your stuck in the animation when u perfom it and you can be shot at during that time
ow btw fucking nice positioning noctis, you showed an awesome performance at qcon!
As long as your hardware can manage it you can play with whatever fps you want.
Anyway, it seems reasonable to me that the case is as noctis stated.
