A lot of things are similar here and on esr, do you have any specific function/feature in mind?

The plus system is the same as on esr (in the backend at least). I opted to show the + amount instead of % on posts/comments since i think that shows better how popular a post really is by amount of people rather than some 1-100% value which can be reached by 20 people or 200 people depending on their popularity. The user popularity calculation is pretty much the same as on esr.

Everyone can post threads, depending on the user level and the type of thread they need to be approved by admins first. There are no major/minor posts so we'll be more careful about which news get posted. Something similar but not really the same is that posts can be featured, which means they will show up on the frontpage with the big images on top (unless you've opted to disable that block via your user settings).
