Lansanity

LANSanity has just concluded, the first ever large scale Challenge Pro-Mode 1on1 LAN tournament. All the players seem quite excited about the changes in the mod and the tournament ran quit well. a|pureluck won the match, with DieharD-r3v coming in 2nd. There is more coverage on TeamAbuse's page.

Lansanity, held at the Portland COnference Center in Oregon during July 15-16, 2000 had the unbelievable for the time, amount of $2500 in cash prizes to be given to the winner of the 1v1 ProMode tournament. The event was being sponsored by names such as nVidia, Logitech and Ratpadz and was organized by no other than a|citizen. His teamate pureluck took 1st place with Diehard placing 2nd and a|method sharing 3rd with 2ur'Rada. CPM was very new back then, and a special updated version was released just for the Lansanity tournament.

The past weekend, besides the Danish CPL qualifying tournament, included the end of the Lansanity LAN tournament in the highly controversial Challenge Pro Mode (CPM). a|pureluck met in an exciting final Diehard-r3v on CPM3 over two rounds best of three matches. a|pureluck certainly won three out of four maps and only match number three gave a little excitement about the result. Third match was won with the closest possible margin on only one shot of a|pureluck with the numbers 24-23.

There are not yet demos of the actual finals, but two matches between Diehard-r3v and a | citizen on CPM3 and Skullduggery. To see the matches, get the Lansanity version of Challenge Pro Mode (CPM). The new Skullduggery course is not included in the zip package, so you need to download it separately.
