Quake Week Recap — June 16 to June 22
Here's what happened in the Quake world this past week:
- Season 27 went live in Quake Champions, bringing four new weapon skins, a server tickrate increase to 100 FPS, improved netcode, and several balance changes. Lightning Gun was adjusted for faster fire rate but lower damage, while champions like Death Knight, Sorlag, and Galena received significant ability tweaks. Global chat was disabled, vanity issues were fixed and backend updates made the XP grind smoother with better rewards for duplicates.
- The Quake Live LAN tournament in Stuttgart concluded with dem0n winning the duel event and WALLSNACKERS ( MasterMind, ioRekk, Fizzy, Wallsnag, Janti) taking the CTF crown. VODs from the two-day event are available here.

- Spart1e claimed his first EGB Weekly Cup title, while Cypher secured the Oldmap Cup. In both events, ash finished second.
- baSe added another win to his record by taking the latest Estoty Duel Tournament — his 45th title in the series, staying ahead of RAISY, who has 40.
- A new patch dropped for the Blood Run mod for Quake III Arena, adding maps, champion audio, and new server customization options — including infinite ammo and vampiric Lightning Gun settings.
- On the Endpoint Quake YouTube channel, a new podcast episode featuring Cypher and Av3k explores the mindset, discipline, and tactical depth behind high-level Quake. Titled The Secret to Winning, the discussion was recorded shortly after Cypher’s dominant run in the 250 FPS League and offers rare insight into the mentality of elite players.
