Five Years Of Diabotical
On September 3, 2020, The GD Studio released Diabotical on the Epic Games Store. First announced through a Kickstarter campaign in 2016, the game set out to revive the arena FPS tradition with its Eggbot characters, multiple modes and a built-in map editor.
Shortly after launch, GD Studio organized the Diabotical Test Tournament Series, including 1v1 Duel events with $2,500 prize pools. The studio had set aside $250,000 for esports in the first year. Later community initiatives kept the competitive side active, though on a smaller scale.
The release date also gave rise to a running community joke: since the game had been promised for August 2020 but slipped by a few days, its actual launch on September 3 became known as “August 34th”.

2GD betrayed all his supporters by taking the Tencent money for developing the "rogue" "successor". Which was dead on arrival. All the while abandoning Diabotical and not delivering on almost all of his kickstarter promises.
Such a monumental loser fail.
