A new Quake Champions build has been deployed to the Public Test Server (PTS), according to SyncError in the icon_discord official Quake Discord. The update is labeled FEB 2026 PTS 02 (1.29.RETAIL.210629/210691) and dated January 13, 2026.

Controls+ menu (advanced champion controls)

Added a new Controls+ settings menu for advanced champion controls.
  • The special movement bind was moved into this new menu.
  • Doom Slayer can now use the special movement bind for Double Jump.
  • Nyx can now use the special movement bind for Wall Jump.

Champion mechanics (quality-of-life)

  • Clutch: Dodge Stamina — stamina regen increased from 0.2 to 0.33.
  • Clutch: Air Dodge — removed the minimum time delay between dodge activations.
  • Clutch: Air Dodge — removed the requirement to touch the ground after a dodge before performing another.
  • Strogg once again drops Stroyent on all kills, but the HP bonus was lowered to 10 HP.
  • Visor — the 90 damage rail during ability no longer requires zoom.

Knockback

Knockback changes from the current LIVE update are being reviewed; the note says many changes may be reverted or adjusted to reduce frustration.
  • Lightning Gun — reduced vertical lift on knockback.

General fixes & changes

  • Testing higher quality textures for Ultra video settings (moving some textures from 2K to 4K sources).
  • Bots will no longer steal major items from nearby players.
  • Reduced the length of the Quake III Shotgun’s laser beam in third person (noted as currently broken).
  • Fixed multiple weapon animation errors/warnings.
