Quake Champions Public Test Server (PTS) has received a new build with several UI/customization additions, a new Random Champion option and a small set of balance and rules tweaks.

New features:
  • Champion-specific vanity weapons
    • Vanity weapons can now be equipped per champion in Customization
    • Optional button: Equip on All Champions
  • Weapon position: Hidden
    • New Hidden option makes weapon + hands invisible and centered
    • Gauntlet icon added to the ammo HUD (so weapon selection stays visible)
  • Random Champion
    • Selected in the Champion Select roster
    • Random pick uses all champions (does not override forced champions like Arena Kings / champion arcades)
    • Allows playing locked champions (random) in Practice, Quick Play and Ranked
    • Mode behavior:
      • Duel / TDM 2v2: one random champion for the entire match
      • Sac Tourney / CTF Tourney / TDM Tourney: random champion selected during pick phase, unique within the team
      • Duel Rounds: random pick during pick phase, unique within the squad
      • Other modes: “mystery champion” that can change on each respawn (ability cooldown is retained)
Champion updates:
  • Ranger
    • Dire Orb damage: 7550
  • Clutch (tests)
    • Shield becomes breakable (up to 200 damage absorbed before breaking)
    • Duration + damage soak share the same energy pool
    • Dodge passive disabled while shield is active
    • Stamina regen: 0.330.30
  • Strogg
    • No longer drops Stroyent on suicide
Misc:
  • Knockback cap: 120132 (addresses rocket jump penalty from the prior update)
  • Changing champion mid-game no longer resets ability cooldown
