DreamHack Winter Duel and Sacrifice results

DreamHack Winter is now now over and the champions have been crowned. Just like in DreamHack Denver, both Duel and Sacrifice tournaments featured some unexpected results as the best players competed for the total 350,000 USD prize pool.

In the Duel event DaHanG has claimed the champion title. This makes him the fourth unique winner in Quake Champions Duel LAN tournaments. Heavily favored champions of the Quake World Championship, 2z, ended up finishing in a disappointing third place in Sacrifice tournament, as they were sent home by Stacked.

Hopefully Dooms ability is fixed soon, one tournament with one punch man was enough :]

I don't know if you remember, but the one from finals on Corrupted Keep where Dahang was hovering above mega got killed from one punch that was 12-15 feet below him. Looks ridiculous to watch.

Yeah, I can imagine how it feels to die like that in a tournament with money on the line.

While I don't fully agree that the game is totally random (as some people put it) - I still expected previous tournament winners to do a bit better. Seeing Raisy and Clawz so far from the top surprised me a bit, but there have been hefty changes to the game of course.

I do like the fact that at least at this point there's a wide range of players that can reach the top easily enough. That being said, the top 8 looks like from any other QL tourney pretty much.

Can't wait for more tournament announcements!
