Quake 3 Festival FreezeTag 4v4 2025 Set for October 11
The Quake 3 Festival FreezeTag 4v4 2025 tournament will take place on 11:00 UTC, 11 Oct 2025. The event will be held in a draft format, with balanced teams formed based on ELO ratings. The total prize pool is 100,000₽ (~$1,250).
The competition will use the FreezeTag 4v4 mode (Quake 3 Unlagged) and a full double-elimination bracket. All matches are best-of-three, with the grand final best-of-five (upper bracket winner starts with a one-map advantage).
Draft format:
Before the event, all participants will be placed into rating-based baskets. Captains (top-rated players, up to 12 total) will be chosen randomly. From each basket, two players will be randomly drawn and assigned to the two captains. Once eight players are selected, a bot will finalize the team composition based on the average ELO of the squad. The process repeats until all teams are formed. In case of an odd number of participants, fifth-player substitutes may be added by agreement and must play at least one map.

The starting team is determined randomly (coin toss, random number, etc.) unless otherwise agreed; if no agreement is reached, the team listed higher in the bracket picks first. The standard pick/ban sequence is “–” (ban) and “+” (pick).
Power-ups: Quad Damage is enabled by default on some maps, while others are played without it. On oxodm15 (Purgatory) and oxodm68 (Quarantine), Battle Suit is enabled by default.

- Before the tournament, play at least five calibration pickup matches in the FreezeTag format on the server to establish your approximate skill level and rating
