Season 27 brings a fresh wave of content, performance improvements, and balancing changes to Quake Champions.
  • New Content includes four new weapon skins: the LEVIATHAN Rocket Launcher, RUTHLESS EZ-H2O Railgun, Quake II Blaster Nailgun, and Q3BFG10K Rocket Launcher.

  • Code & Performance:
    • Servers now run at 100 FPS tickrate (up from 60), while client FPS is capped at 500
    • Netcode improvements via delta compression for Strogg drones and player prediction
    • Global Chat has been disabled, now replaced with system announcements
  • Weapon Tweaks:
    • Starting Shotgun gets a close-range damage bonus
    • Lightning Gun damage lowered to 6 but with increased fire rate and ammo cap
  • Champion Balancing:
    • Death Knight reworked for more consistent fire damage behavior
    • Galena's totems are stronger and more durable
    • Sorlag acid spit is more lethal but now also benefits from damage reduction
  • Various bug fixes and small buffs for Doom Slayer and Eisen.
  • Sacrifice Mode now features improved scoring mechanics, audio cues, and UI feedback.
  • Map fixes target bot navigation, performance, and exploit removal.
  • Vanity Fixes address shader glitches and improve visibility for select skins and weapons.

  • Backend Updates:
    • New controls for ping-based datacenter restrictions
    • XP curve flattened for the Battle Pass (now 35k XP per level to 100)
    • Shard rewards for duplicate items have been significantly increased

Season 27 focuses on smoother gameplay, meaningful balance tweaks, and visual polish — perfect timing for summer fragging.

Code Updates

  • Servers now run at 100 fps tickrate instead of 60
  • Clients are now limited to a maximum of 500 FPS
  • Friends List Roster now has one row of four buttons to easily display Friends, Following, Followers, and Ignored contacts
  • Strogg drone is now using delta compression on net predicted packet data for improved performance

  • Fixed an asset protection validation issue that could result in long load times or for the client to crash during validation
  • Disabled all New Item notification icons
  • Disabled Collectables count container from the Champion home screens

  • Disabled Global Chat, changed it to a System Message announcement channel

Weapon Updates

  • Starting Shotgun: Added a 10 damage close range bonus when within 3.2 m (For reference, the SSG's close range bonus is 40 damage within 6.4 m)
  • Lightning Gun: Fixed damage dealt to correctly respect armor protection rates, by reducing damage from 7 to 6, increasing the rate of fire from 48 to 42 ms, and increasing max ammo to 200

Champion Updates

  • Death Knight: Added 50% damage reduction to the fireball impact explosion
  • Death Knight: Flame strike direct damage reduced from 25 to 20 damage
  • Death Knight: Flame strike trail damage increased from 0 to 3 damage (per tick) -- this is not dot damage, this is damage from actively standing on the fire trail
  • Death Knight: Reduced fire dot damage reduced from 15 damage for 5 seconds to 6 damage for 5 seconds = max 30 damage (as he now deals direct touch damage from the ground fire)
  • DOOM Slayer: Fixed Blood Punch drops not removing dot debuffs
  • Eisen: The turret now shows the spawn protection FX when the turret is protected during Eisen respawns
  • Galena: Totem damage increased from 40 to 50 damage & empowered totems from 60 to 75 damage
  • Galena: Increased Totem health from 25 to 60 hp (the amount of damage it can take before being destroyed)
  • Sorlag: Added 50% damage reduction to the acid spit projectiles
  • Sorlag: Increased acid dot damage from 7 damage for 10 seconds to 15 damage for 5 seconds

Game Mode Updates

  • Sacrifice: The Obelisk now plays a global sound each time it gains 20% towards completion. (Issue present online that doesn't occur on lan, will address in the next build)
  • Sacrifice: Added the CTF scoring system, personal score gained from offensive & defensive actions regarding the soul and soul-carrier
  • Sacrifice: The team scorebox now becomes highlighted when it reaches 90%
  • Timelimit Duel: Increased the max frags for the Duel HUD support from 50 to 100

Map Updates

  • Reverted Spring Maps
  • Crucible: Performance & bot navigation updates
  • Cursed Soul: Bot navigation updates
  • Tower of Koth: Fixed three dire orb exploits
  • Ruins of Sarnath: Potential fix for a seam on the ring-out collision that you could stand on
  • Vestibule of Exile: Collision & bot navigation updates

Vanity Updates

  • Fixed Slash CHATTERBOX positioning for Tempest, Fire Trail, Pro League, and Siren outfits
  • Fixed RUINER QL HMG power-up shaders (quad, protection, ghostwalk, etc)
  • Fixed TESLA Lightning Gun in Ghostwalk
  • Updated the Q2BFG10K with improved projectile visuals
  • Updated the SCORPION to improve visibility of the nails in third person
  • Added the Nyx Blue Brown Sheen shader to lootboxes

Backend Services

  • The backend can now be configured to limit players from selecting red / high-ping datacenters
  • Updated the backend config storage to include Crosshair Color, Crosshair Hit Color, Ally Team Color, and Enemy Team Color
  • Reduced the BP XP requirements. Every level up to 100 now requires 35k, instead of gradually getting harder throughout the pass, and 70k for every level above 100.
  • Increased the duplicate weapon credit from 1 to 5 shards
  • Increased the duplicate vanity credit from 1 to 3 shards
