Blood Run (a Quake III Arena mod inspired by Quake Champions) ran its “Blood, Sweat and Tears” community duel tournament this weekend. PepCo finished on top, with WiseGenie taking second.

During the event, the icon_telegram Blood Run dev Telegram channel also published the build used for the matches. The update switches dm4 (Corruption) and dm6 (Pentagram) to QC-style spawns, changes dm14 (Venom) to “COOL” spawns and adds new Anarki sounds.

Note on “COOL” spawns: in Blood Run changelogs, COOL refers to a newer respawn algorithm credited to Anton “Cooller” Singov. It picks between three distant spawn points with equal probability, aiming for more consistent “far” respawns. The algorithm first appeared in Blood Run build 2024-06-04.
