Quake: The Board Game crowdfunding campaign to begin in August
The crowdfunding campaign for Quake: The Board Game will officially begin on the Gamefound platform this August. Archon Studio confirmed the timeframe in a new update, which also provided the first specific details on how the tabletop adaptation will play. The project is designed as a cooperative tactical miniatures game for 1 to 4 players. It will feature a 4-level campaign, alongside an optional Deathmatch mode for competitive play.

To give potential backers an idea of what to expect, Archon Studio outlined the following core mechanics:

Enemies from Different Eras
The board game combines monsters from multiple eras of the franchise. Players will face the cybernetic Strogg from Quake II and Quake 4 (including Tanks, Berserkers and the Makron), as well as the Lovecraftian creatures from the original Quake, such as Fiends and Shamblers.
Further details are available on the project's Gamefound page.

To give potential backers an idea of what to expect, Archon Studio outlined the following core mechanics:
- Action Card Combos: Players plan actions simultaneously at the start of a round by assigning cards to their boards. Cards played later in the sequence receive bonuses from the symbols on earlier cards. Players can also discard cards from their hand to trigger free actions, such as melee attacks or movement adjustments.
- Your Deck is Your Health: The deck represents a player's server connection. Running out of cards simulates "lag," and an empty deck where a player can no longer plan actions results in being "Fragged" and removed from the map. Players must stay aggressive to keep their decks replenished.
- Verticality: Maps feature both High and Low Ground. Players will use classic Jump Pads or Rocket Jumps to reach upper levels where weapons like the Railgun or BFG10K are located.
