The new duel mode suffers from the same thing wickland does, but way more so. It just makes your spawn and the first 10/15 seconds of the round be almost the decider of who will win that round. At least in wickland the major items will respawn and you can get back into control and make some weapons respawn but in this it sounds like nothing respawns for the entire round.
Its slighty offset by the ability to pick your spawn. I always said wickland needed a 10s countdown at the start of duels where players can get in position like clan arena to offset the issue of spawn luck and chance and put every decision in the hands of the player.
